CIRCULAR BIOECONOMY BUSINESS MODELS OWNED BY AGROCOOPERATIVES

ROBOCOOP-EU is a project co-funded by HORIZON EUROPE and CIRCULAR BIO-BASED EUROPE, which proposes a revolutionary cultural shift in the agri-food sector: deploying effective regional and circular bio-based business models for the valorization of waste streams from three agricultural sectors.

In order to develop and deploy regional circular bio-based business models for the valorization of waste streams from the grape, olive, and stone fruit agricultural sectors, the project will develop and implement sustainable technologies (TRL 7) for agricultural waste valorization. This will result in the production of 17 new bio-based products (3 food formulations, 3 feed formulations, 5 cosmetic and nutraceutical formulations, 1 functional molecule aimed at the bioplastics sector, and 5 biofertilizer formulations).

ROBOCOOP-EU will address and overcome the challenges and barriers of technology implementation by considering aspects such as optimal technology development, scalability, adaptability to market demand, economic viability, environmental impact, and exploitation potential.

At the same time, it will reduce the ecological footprint of agricultural activities by creating new jobs with skills and competencies aligned with the circular economy business model in rural areas.
